Contact Us

By far, the best way to get in contact with us is to come on down to the Clubhouse on a Sunday morning.  It is a guarantee you will be able to speak with our knowledgeable volunteers, who will be more than happy to provide you with information about how the club works, our polices, what you need to do and bring and how to sign up.

If you prefer, you can email us using our contact form below.  Please keep in mind that we are a volunteer organisation, and while we will receive your message if you send it using this form, we may not have a chance to respond for a little while.

The telephone number at our Clubhouse is 03 9763 1444.  As this phone is located in our Clubhouse, it is usually only answered on Sunday mornings.

About Knox Obedience Dog Club

A Brief History

In October 1967 Mr. & Mrs. John Caldwell made public their intention of starting an Obedience School for dogs in the Boronia area. Training commenced in a foundation Member's backyard and a Committee was formed.

The first General Meeting of the Club was held on the 11th December 1967. Permission was sought from the Knox Shire Council to name the club the "Knox Obedience Dog Club", this was granted. The Club was granted use of Batterham Reserve on Sundays for a one month trial. This was successful and the Knox Obedience Dog Club went on to expand its membership. In August 1968 the Knox Obedience Dog Club gained affiliation with the Kennel Control Council.

Knox made Obedience history on the 27th October 1968 when we hosted a combined Obedience and Show Competition in aid of Knoxbrooke Training Centre. Knox's first Open Trial was held in August 1970.

On the 12th of August 1979 after extensive negotiations with the Council "Knox" moved to Knox Park. In September 1981 the members built the Clubhouse which was officially opened on the 27th June 1982 by the then Mayor of Knox, Cr Hurtle Lupton. Hurtle Lupton became the Club's patron in 1989. Due to increased membership over the years the Clubhouse has continued to be improved and altered to accommodate the members' needs, and has been extended several times over the years.

"Agility" was introduced to Victoria in 1987, Knox was one of the first clubs to run an Agility Trial.

When the Endurance Test was introduced Knox was the first Club in Victoria to conduct an Endurance Trial

Knox boasts some of the best Obedience Instructors and Training Facilities in Victoria.

Our club is located at Knox Park in Knoxfield, Victoria.  We are fortunate to have access to three large grass ovals, right next to a fully fenced Dog Park.  Our Clubhouse is also at this site.
