Dog Training and How To Get Results

It’s praising or rewarding your dog when he does something you like and correcting him when he does something you don't like. Dogs look at what is best for them in any given situation. Your dog will learn very quickly when it sees the situation is to its advantage. This is the, ‘What’s in it for me’ principle or reward training.
To Trick or Not to Trick...

...That is the question. As someone who works with dogs on a regular basis as an instructor at KODC, as an animal attendant at a shelter and as both a foster carer and case manager for Siberian Husky Rescue Inc. I have witnessed how trick training can help build a bond between dog and handler. I believe teaching your dog tricks is the best way to build a close bond, trust and respect between yourself and your dog.

It was a cold windy winter night on Wednesday 20th June, but it was warm inside the club house of Knox Obedience Dog Club. The heaters were on and our guest speaker, Sarah Trembath was present with her Belgian Shepherd dog, Arinya.
